Virtual Bookend Events

Celebrate childhood reading and join us for the Brooklyn Book Festival Children’s Day on Saturday, October 3 from 10am – 4pm. Children’s Day will be virtual this year with a selection of fun and spirited programs for children, families and educators — meet authors, hear readings and performances, join workshops, watch the famous Illustrator Drawoff,  and more.

Registration for these events are free to the public.

Spend the afternoon of October 3 with the best in emerging and award winning authors who write young adult literature. Y.A. Out Loud includes virtual discussions and readings with authors including Libba Bray, Kacen Callender, Brandy Colbert, Marie Lu, Justin Reynolds and many more. Check the full list here. Join us on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 10am – 8pm as nearly 100 national and international authors participate in a full day of virtual programming. Fiction, non-fiction, poetry and comics programming will be presented in readings and discussions.

Our literary Bookend events will take place from September 28 – October 5.

We will welcome audiences from all over the globe to join us on Festival Day and Children’s Day, for a line-up of free public programming.  Most Bookend events are also free!

Spend a full week visiting favorite literary events — virtually of course. The 2020 Bookends (September 28 – October 5, 2020) includes a full slate of virtual literary special events including salons, lit games, book launches and performances. Most Bookends are free to register.
