Exploring Literary South Street Seaport with the Walt Whitman Initiative! (In-Person)

Join the Walt Whitman Initiative for a celebration of literary South Street Seaport! Festivities begin with a walking tour led by WWI President Karen Karbiener, starting and concluding at Fulton Stall Market (5-6PM). All are then invited upstairs to WWI’s Tane Poetry Library, where Curator/Librarian Jay Sherry and Assistant Librarian Emerald Sanjuro will introduce the collection and our cozy reading space (6-6:30PM). At 6:30PM, Brooklyn-based designer Stefan Killen will present his new children’s book CROSSING, a reinterpretation of Whitman’s “Crossing Brooklyn Ferry” and an affirmation of the power of love.
