Inspired by the NYC Black-Owned Women Book Store Crawl, held in March 2026, the Center for Black Literature is proud to celebrate these remarkable women-owned bookstores that continue to enrich New York’s literary and cultural landscape. Brooklyn is home to an incredible network of Black-owned bookstores that offer thoughtfully curated collections, foster community engagement, and champion literary and cultural arts. Join us for an inspiring conversation with representatives from four beloved neighborhood bookstores: Liz’s Book Bar; BEM Books & More; Gladys Books & Wine; and Adanne Bookshop.
