Each year, the Center for Fiction / Susan Kamil Emerging Writer Fellowship provides creative and professional support to nine NYC writers who have not yet published a book of fiction. Don’t miss this panel with alumni Hafeez Lakhani, author of Abundance; Sarah Wang, author of New Skin; and Katie Yee, author of Maggie; Or, a Man and a Woman Walk into a Bar, about what it takes to break into the world of publishing. Taking readers from donut shops to hospital rooms and reality TV sets, their novels weave together humor and tragedy in equal measure, offering a compelling sample of what today’s most promising debut authors have to offer.
