Victoria James is a sommelier and beverage director at Cote Korean Steakhouse where she recently received a James Beard nomination for Outstanding Wine Program. She is the author of Drink Pink: A Celebration of Rosé and Wine Girl: The Obstacles, Humiliations, and Triumphs of America's Youngest Sommelier. She has worked in restaurants since she was 13 and when she was 21 became certified as a sommelier, going on to work in Michelin-starred dining rooms such as Aureole and Marea. James has appeared on many notable lists: Forbes and Zagat's 30 Under 30, Food & Wine's 2018 Sommelier of the Year, and Wine Enthusiast’s 40 Under 40” She has a quarterly print column for Forbes magazine and has contributed to Munchies, Cosmopolitan, and Bon Appétit. She is also a co-founder Wine Empowered, which offers tuition-free wine classes to women and people of color in the hospitality industry.
