Pichchenda Bao is a writer and poet. She and her parents arrived in the United States in the 80s as refugees from Cambodia. Now she lives, writes, and raises her two young children in New York City. Her work has been published by Newtown Literary, great weather for MEDIA, the Cambodian American Literary Arts Association, Poets of Queens, and others, as well as made into broadsides at the Center for Book Arts and and nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She was an Emerging Writer Fellow at the 2019 Aspen Summer Words writers conference. Most recently, she was awarded a 2020 New Work grant by the Queens Council on the Arts.
