Jenny Odell is an artist and writer whose work exists between the disciplines of writing and visual art. She has been an artist-in-residence at Recology SF (otherwise known as the San Francisco dump), Facebook, the Internet Archive, and the San Francisco Planning Department. Her writing has been published in the New York Times, The Creative Independent, Topic Magazine, and Medium. She teaches digital art at Stanford, is an avid birdwatcher, and currently resides in Oakland with a semi-pet crow. Her latest book is How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy.
