Nathaniel Rich is the author of Cloudthief and three previous novels, all New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice selections. He is also the author of two works of nonfiction: Second Nature, which includes the story that serves as the basis for the film Dark Waters; and Losing Earth, a finalist for the PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Award. “A Statement,” a feature adaptation of Losing Earth, will premiere next month at the New York Film Festival.
