MALAKA GHARIB is a writer, journalist, and cartoonist. She is the author of I Was Their American Dream: A Graphic Memoir, which was named one of the best books of 2019 by the Washington Post, Kirkus Reviews, NPR, and the New York Public Library, and went on to win an Arab American Book Award. By day, she works as an editor on NPR’s science desk. Her comics have been featured in the New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, and The Believer. She lives in Nashville with her husband, Darren, and her dog, Sheeboo.
