Kathleen Alcott

Kathleen Alcott is the author of three novels, most recently America Was Hard To Find, and the short story collection Emergency. Her short fiction has received an O. Henry Prize, been shortlisted for the Sunday Times Short Story Award, and included in The Best American Short Stories; she has also been nominated for the Joyce Carol Oates Prize and a Chautauqua Award. Her writing has appeared in publications including Harper’s Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Zoetrope and elsewhere, and she has taught at Columbia University and Bennington College.
