Katherine Vaz, a former Briggs-Copeland Fellow at Harvard and Radcliffe Fellow, is the first Portuguese-American to have her work recorded for the Archives of the Library of Congress (Hispanic Division). Her novels are SAUDADE and MARIANA, the latter in six languages. Her story collections include FADO & OTHER STORIES, OUR LADY OF THE ARTICHOKES, and her novel ABOVE THE SALT is forthcoming in 2023 from Flatiron Books/Macmillan.
