Karsonya “Kaye” Wise Whitehead is the founding executive director of The Karson Institute and professor of communication and African and African American Studies at Loyola University Maryland, and the host of the award-winning radio show Today with Dr. Kaye on WEAA, 88.9 FM. She is the recent recipient of the John LaFarge Award, and the Vernon Jarrett Medal for Journalistic Excellence. Dr. Kaye is the author of four books, including the forthcoming my mother’s tomorrow: dispatches through the lens of Baltimore’s Black Butterfly and RaceBrave: New and Selected Works. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
