Julia Sarcone-Roach lives in Brooklyn, New York, writing and illustrating picture books. Originally an animator, she is the author and illustrator of THE SECRET PLAN, SUBWAY STORY, and THE BEAR ATE YOUR SANDWICH, which was an Ezra Jack Keats Honor Award winner, a New York Times bestseller, and an excuse to eat many sandwiches. She is also the illustrator of INCREDIBLE INVENTIONS by Lee Bennett Hopkins and EXCELLENT ED by Stacy McAnulty.
Julia runs across a surprising number of wild animals in Brooklyn, but, to date, no bears. She does, however, share her home with her husband and a few inquisitive cats, all of whom enjoy sampling baked goods.
