John O’Neill received his PhD. in Hispanic Philology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997. In 1996, he joined the staff of the Hispanic Society of America as the Curator of Manuscripts and Rare Books. His main research areas are paleography and the transcription of old Spanish texts, and the life of Archer M. Huntington, founder of the Hispanic Society.
