Hélène Landemore is a political theorist and political science professor at Yale. She is the author of Open Democracy and Politics Without Politicians: The Case for Citizen Rule. She is designing the Connecticut Citizens’ Assembly on Property Taxes, a testing ground for ideas explored in her new book. Landemore has worked with governments, NGOs, and reformers around the world as a speaker and adviser. Her research has been featured in The New Yorker, Financial Times, and The Nation, on The Ezra Klein Show, and at the Aspen Festival of Ideas and the Athens Democracy Forum. She has written for The Washington Post, Foreign Policy, and Le Monde, among other publications.
