Eric M. B. Becker, a prolific translator from Portuguese, has been a finalist for the PEN Translation Prize. His work has also received recognition from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for Translation of a Literary Work, and the Fulbright Program. He is a digital director and senior editor at the international literary journal Words Without Borders.
