Danielle Davenport is an actor, writer, and co-founder of the nation’s first Black food bookstore, BEM | books & more, and its sibling nonprofit, the BEM Cultural Foundation (BCF). BCF deepens public knowledge of global Black culinary and literary traditions, centering food and books as a portal for diverse cultural and political conversations while platforming Black food practitioners and artists across disciplines. A summa cum laude graduate of Barnard College, she serves on the Brooklyn Book Festival Nonfiction Committee, is a Glynwood ambassador, and was named to Cherry Bombe’s Future of Food 50 List.
