David Chariandy was born in Toronto and now lives and teaches in Vancouver. He is the award winning author of the novels Soucouyant (2007), and Brother (2018), named a “book of the year” by The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, Kirkus Reviews, Esquire Magazine, and The Guardian, among other periodicals. His most recent book is memoir I’ve Been Meaning to Tell You: A Letter to My Daughter (2019). David Chariandy’s writings have been widely translated; and he is a 2019 winner of the Windham-Campbell Prize in Fiction.
