Amisha (Amy) Padnani is an editor on the Obituaries desk at The New York Times and the creator of Overlooked, an award-winning project that tells the stories of remarkable women and people of color whose deaths were not reported by the newspaper. The column inspired a TV show on Netflix and am upcoming book. Before joining The Times, Amy, a native New Yorker, was a reporter at The Star-Ledger, The Journal News, Newsday, The Staten Island Advance and The Herald News. Amy is co-chair of the Asian Network and the Times Run Club. In 2018 she was named Incredible Woman of the Year by Porter magazine.
