Thank you to the hundreds of authors and thousands of readers who turned out for the Festival this year from Virtual Festival Day to Bookends, Children’s Day and our flagship Festival Day! On Festival Day, despite the wind and rain, more than 50 author events took place on 7 indoor stages. Sadly, our popular outdoor Literary Marketplace could not take place due to wind conditions. Authors who braved the rain and created an amazing spirit of literary celebration that day included Jennifer Egan, Ayana Gray, Angeline Boulley, Paisley Currah, Ryan La Sala, E. Lockhart, Casey McQuiston, Meghan O’Rourke, Jess Ruliffson, Esmeralda Santiago, Namwali Serpell, Vladimir Sorokin, Ryann Stevenson, Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò, Linda Villarosa, Jacqueline Woodson, and many more!

Please visit our Virtual Marketplace and purchase books from the many publishers who could not sell their books that day.

Families, children, and educators enjoyed programs and activities at the day-long Children’s Day in Brooklyn Commons at MetroTech with Tui T. Sutherland, C.G. Esperanza, George O’Connor, Raul the Third,  Dan Santat, Brandy Colbert, Ibi Zoboi, David Barclay Moore, Mac Barnett & Shawn Harris.

More than 60 Bookends took place throughout the city — from Staten Island to Queens, there was a plethora of programs from discussions  to poetry readings.

Thanks to our many volunteers without whom the day would not be possible. They brought their good spirit and made everyone feel welcome.

In the meantime, enjoy our gallery of photos celebrating authors, books and publishers.
